🌶️🥭🍊 Pico Tropical con Pique Boricua

Description

A bold Caribbean 🇵🇷 twist on traditional pico de gallo. This vibrant blend of mango, navel orange, tomatoes, white onion, and cilantro is elevated with a splash of homemade pique, adding a tangy heat that perfectly balances the natural sweetness of the fruit.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1 navel orange, segmented & chopped
  • ¼ cup white onion, finely diced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1–2 tablespoons Puerto Rican pique Picante y Sabor Food (adjust to taste)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine tomatoes, mango, orange, white onion, and cilantro.
  2. Add lime, lemon juice and pique.
  3. Season with salt and gently mix.
  4. Let sit for 10–15 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
  5. Taste and adjust—add more pique if you want extra heat.

Tips

  • Start with 1 tablespoon of pique, then build up—flavor first, heat second.
  • If your pique is vinegar-forward, you can skip the lemon juice.
  • Dice everything evenly so you get a perfect bite every time.
  • If it gets too juicy, lightly drain before serving.
